Cuda Bowl 2016 – February 4-6, 2016

Greetings Everyone! Good news for the Barracuda that starting November 1st the commercial bag limit on barracuda will be limited to 2 fish per person or 6 per boat per day. The FWC had previously approved at 20 fish commercial bag limit back in June but revisited it and came up with the more limited bag limit.

Although the Cuda Bowl is strictly a catch and release event, it has raised awareness about the barracuda and a species and as a game fish for flats anglers.

We are very happy to hear that there is so much concern over the protection of the barracuda and many thanks to the Lower Keys Guides Association. Our LKGA played an important part in initiating the subject of protecting this valuable species here in the Keys.

The Cuda Bowl tournament will be held in February in 2016. Captain’s Meeting will be Thursday, February 4th at 6PM with a location TBA. Fishing days will be February 5th and 6th and headquarters will be at Hurricane Hole Marina again.

Registration for the 2016 event will be available by September 7th. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and the field will be limited to the first 25 boats. The entry fee is $250 (total price) for one angler, $300 for 2 anglers (total price). There can be two anglers maximum per boat.
