The 2016 Cuda Bowl will kick-off tonight at ‘My New Joint’ just upstairs from The Square Grouper Bar & Grill. We will have our captain’s meeting, read the rules, hand out the tournament goodie bags, rulers and score sheets. There will be some appetizers and a cash bar for all the participants. We thank Lynn Bell for hosting our event at her bar & restaurant this year.
Friday and Saturday are the fishing days. Anglers and guides are asked to come to Hurricane Hole after their fishing day is done for scoring and some after fishing party and food.
We will be selling raffle tickets for a 35 Quart Yeti Tundra cooler to benefit the Jose Wejebe Spanish Fly Foundation. We will also have a variety of past tournament gear available at the event. We are asking for a donation for each piece you would like. The gear sales money will go to the Lower Keys Guides Association and to Jose Wejebe Spanish Fly Foundation equally.
We will be using an electronic scoring system this year from iAnglerTournament.com. The app for iAnglerTournament enables participants to upload a photo of their fish on the measuring device and note its length, what type of gear it was caught on, and the condition the fish was in when it was released. This data will be collected to help with the protection of barracuda as a gamefish.
